(Tuesday, Ferbuary 2nd)
This morning we moved over Unit 3 (it was about Yellow Bulldozer)
There are some tips and notes which I should remember.
First of all reflexive verbs and pronouns (such as shave himself, wash himself etc. ) Verbs Feel, Think and Concentrate are never reflexive! (now I'll always remember the phrase "feel myself bad" )
New words and expressions:
It hadn't properly registered yet with somebody that... - means it's hard to believe it, to take it in (russian meaning - в голове не укладывалось)
to adjust - means to get used to something, to earn a habit (russian meaning - приспособиться)
to stamp off - means to walk heavily (топать)
to wander through his mind in search of something to connect with - means not to go out from his brain (russian meaning - не выходило из головы в поисках...bla bla bla)
It would being sort itself out - to sort out means that something resolve itself.
Hangover - haha! похмелье in Russian
Now... I must catch the difference between "each other", "one another" and "themselves". Why!!! They're all good musicians but their group has been successful because they play so well with ____. There is "one another"!!! I can't stand it, really.
And finally...
Verbs "feel" "taste" "sound" "smell" "look" mustn't be used with adverbs (only adjectives!!!)
